Walter Reynolds, currently serving as the District 4 city councilman in Milledgeville, has announced his candidacy for mayor in the upcoming 2025 municipal elections.

For the second-straight year, overcast weather did nothing to dampen spirits for the 14th annual Pirate Parade on Lake Sinclair. And similar to last year’s turnout, about 20 pirate-manned boats made the approximate four-mile trek by water from Little River Marina alongside Hwy.

Businesses report spray paint damages

On May 16, several reports were sent to the Milledgeville Police Department regarding spray paint on the rears of the Goodwill Store, at King of Smoke, 5 Star Beauty and Fashion, and Stop and Go Grocery Store, all located on North Columbia Street.

Students could be seen observing smoke coming from Atkinson Hall at approximately noon May 14 at Georgia College & State University.“The Milledgeville Fire Department responded to a fire alarm located in Atkinson Hall, where smoke was detected in the basement level.
