Ambi Rae Boutique and Allure Beauty Bar will have opened Aug. 13, providing clothing and beauty to the community of Jones County. Both businesses are located at 109 Atlanta Road in downtown Gray. Ambi Rae will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Milledgeville. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI Dec. 13 to conduct an independent investigation. One woman, identified as Fiesta Lattina Murphy, 48, from Duquesne, Penn., was shot and is currently in the hospital.

Unidentified man makes bomb threat at Kroger

Law enforcement was dispatched to Kroger On Dec. 10 in reference to a bomb threat. Customers and employees had been evacuated from the store and the parking lot was blocked off. According to the store manager, the threat came over their walkie talkies.

Baldwin County Regional Airport closed for repaving

The Baldwin County Regional Airport closed on Nov. 21 and will not be reopening until Jan. 7th. The airport is currently undergoing a resurfacing project that will repave the runway which is 5,509 feet in length and 100 feet in width. The project cost $2.

Warnock defeats Walker; former football star concedes

Incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock narrowly defeated Republican Herschel Walker Tuesday in a closely fought race for Georgia’s U.S. Senate seat, giving Democrats a slim two-seat majority in the upper house in Washington. Warnock was leading Walker 51.1% to 48.8% as of 11:50 p.m.
