Two more arrests have been made in connection with the June 4 shooting at the Shell gas station in Eatonton. Both arrests were made on Sept. 18, one in New York City and the other at Jimmy Davis Park in Eatonton.

Baldwin residents concerned about water meter charges

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners hosted a public hearing on Sept. 15 to discuss four items on the agenda related to provisions, animal control, utilities, and property standards. Seventy people were in the room, including county officials, to listen to or speak during the hearing.

Man arrested for hijacking at Kroger

Brandon Ryan Moats, 25, was arrested for hijacking a motor vehicle at Kroger, near the pharmacy side, on Saturday, Sept. 16. The victim, Cathy Gladdin, stated she was loading groceries into her 2013 Toyota RAV4 when she was approached by Moats.

Milledgeville City Council heard the findings from its annual audit report, approved two streetlight resolutions, and approved a grant resolution. David Irwin of Maulding and Jenkins presented the 2022 audit report. The Yellow Book Report reports the city’s internal controls and compliance.

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) held a dedication ceremony for its first athletic director, Floyd Anderson, Sept.9 under the pavilion at the Lake Laurel Lodge. Anderson was born in 1927 and passed away in December 2022.
