Customer leaves without paying for gas On Oct. 23, law enforcement was dispatched to the Jet Food Store, 301 E. Hancock Street, in reference to a tan older model Chevrolet truck driving off without paying for their gas.

Former clerk pleads guilty to theft of $575,000

A former payroll clerk for the Milledgeville Housing Authority has pleaded guilty in federal court in Macon to stealing more than $575,000 by overpaying herself. Jennifer Kay Smith, 49, of Eatonton pleaded guilty Monday to one count of federal program theft.

Unknown suspect damages window On Oct. 19, law enforcement was dispatched to an apartment on West Franklin Street in reference to a potential burglary. The complainant stated the resident contacted him regarding the window screen of the apartment being damaged.
