Unidentified man makes bomb threat at Kroger

Law enforcement was dispatched to Kroger On Dec. 10 in reference to a bomb threat.

Customers and employees had been evacuated from the store and the parking lot was blocked off. According to the store manager, the threat came over their walkie talkies.

An unidentified male accessed the employee radio channel and began to make vulgar comments and play sounds of obscene media over the radio.

According to the report, before the manager called 911, the male came over the radio and called her out by name, described what she was wearing, and made vulgar comments towards her.

He stated he was about to “blow up” Kroger. A bomb sweep was conducted, but no explosives were located.

The store was given the all clear, and everyone was allowed to return inside.

On Dec. 6, law enforcement was dispatched to Central Georgia Storage in reference to two units being broken into. According to the owner of the first unit, nothing appeared to be missing but rummaging was apparent. The owner of the storage facility could not get in contact with the second unit owner but believes that dirt and dust build up shows nothing was disturbed in the unit.

Tires and tag stolen from vehicle

On Dec. 6, law enforcement was notified of a theft. The victim reported that she returned home to find three tires and her Georgia tag to be missing from her vehicle. Due to there being no witnesses or camera footage, no charges are being taken out at this time.

Women fight inside Walmart

On Dec. 8, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to the affray. CCTV footage showed one female subject at the electronics counter with a male subject and a small child.

The first female subject appeared to get into an argument with a second female subject and entered a physical altercation with her. Both females were observed striking the other with closed fists for a brief period before being separated by their respective male counterparts. Both females exited the location and no property was damaged during the incident. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, the suspects have not been identified.

Attempted burglary results in injured dog

On Dec. 8, law enforcement was dispatched to Ivy Weaver Road in reference to attempted burglary. According to the property owner, Kenneth Moss was on their property to pick up pecans.

However, they noticed Moss was parked behind the residence and noticed that he was in the area where they store copper piping. The property owner reported seeing him carry bundles of copper piping to his vehicle. When the property owner attempted to stop him, he sped away from the scene and struck one of their dogs. According to the reporting officer, the dog had visible injuries and copper piping bundles laid in the backyard by tire tracks. Warrants for theft by taking (misdemeanor) and reckless conduct were secured for Moss.

Pair tries to break into storage unit

On Dec. 9, law enforcement was dispatched to Bolts Storage to do a property check. As an officer approached the gate they observed Kirsten McMillan attempting to get into a unit. As they approached, McMillan returned to her vehicle and joined her passenger Shawn Smith. When making contact with McMillan, they informed the officer that their sister gave them permission to get clothes out of the unit but that the passcode was not working. According to the report, the officer noticed bolt cutters in the floor of the vehicle. When they inspected the lock of the unit, they also noticed cut marks on it. Without being able to get into contact with the owner of the unit on Dec. 9, McMillan left.

On Dec. 10, an officer spoke with the unit owner who said she did not know McMillan or Smith. Warrants for criminal attempt to commit second degree burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime were secured for Smith and McMillan. On Dec. 11, Deputy Varpent conducted a traffic stop on Shawn Smith’s vehicle in the area of the Walmart parking lot. Two bolt cutters and a pry bar were taken from the vehicle. Smith was subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamine and driving while license is suspended. Active warrants are still out for McMillan.

Light fixture broken by unknown individual

On Dec. 10, law enforcement was dispatched to Edward Jones Investment. According to an employee, they were contacted by an employee at Coasties Bakery that a light fixture was damaged. The cost to fix it is $200. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, no offenders have been identified.

Flipper stops by Arcadia Bay

On Dec. 12, law enforcement did a foot patrol in Arcadia Bay after a report of an entering auto and discovered several cars supposedly rummaged through. The initial reporter’s vehicle was unlocked and was reported missing a black 4-inch hunting knife in a black plastic case from the center console. The knife cost approximately $30. Another vehicle owner reported missing a brown Old Timer knife that was valued at $20.

A third owner was missing a green make up bag containing approximately $35 in cash. Three other vehicles were also noticed to have doors ajar and had been rummaged through but contact with the vehicle owners was negligible. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, no offenders have been identified.

Fight ensues at Ross Department Store

On Dec. 12, law enforcement was dispatched to Ross Department Store in reference to a fight. Deija Fripp and Jessica Butler got into a verbal argument inside the store which triggered a physical fight to ensue. Neither individual showed visible injuries. Fripp was trespassed from the location. Warrants for affray were secured for both Fripp and Butler.
