Lee Ann Robinson has lived most of her life in Baldwin County, and she loves it. From fourth to twelfth grade, she attended school in Baldwin County.
“I attended Southside Elementary, Boddie Middle, and Baldwin High. I graduated from Baldwin High School in 1996. Once I graduated from Baldwin High School, I enrolled at Georgia College and graduated with a degree in teaching special education,” said Robinson.
Robinson has been working in the education field for 24 years. She has earned several endorsements in reading, gifted, and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
"Almost 20 years later I continued my education at Georgia College and earned my educational leadership degree. I think that teaching is a calling,” said Robinson. “I’ve been teaching since I was a child. I would have a classroom set up at my Granny’s house, and teach my dolls and stuffed animals, I remember reteaching them everything that I would learn at school.”
As a teacher, building relationships with her students is very important.
“The teachers that I had in school built relationships with their students and it helped make a tremendous impact on my learning. I keep this in the forefront of my mind each and every day that I enter into our school,” said Robinson.
Robinson has obtained many memories in the classroom, but one has always stood out the most.
“I watched a kindergarten student in my classroom over 10 years ago learn to progress from being nonverbal to verbal,” said Robinson. “It truly makes an impact. I will never forget the days he would come in, pat me on my cheek, and say 'Love you, Robinson.' I 100% believe that building relationships is the key to education. Our students face so many challenges and oftentimes we do not know just what they face.”
Robinson is married and has two children that she raised in Milledgeville.
One of her favorite memories in Milledgeville is the birth of her son and daughter, Kati and Reid Robinson.
“Milledgeville has always played a role in our lives, Milledgeville is home. It is a great place to live. It has provided and continues to provide a lot of educational opportunities for our children,” said Robinson.
Christmas time in Milledgeville has always played a huge role in the Robinson family and is another favorite memory of hers. Robinson loves spending time with her community and interacting with others.
She loves to take walks on the Greenway and eat at her favorite restaurant, Velvet Elvis, to support her daughter. The Robinson family is proud to call Milledgeville home.
“I love the community that we live in and the relationships that we build. Milledgeville is a great place to live and work," said Robinson.
