A Hancock County resident won $1 million on the Georgia Lottery’s 2nd Edition Billionaire Club scratch-off game, according to a press release by the Georgia Lottery.
The player claimed their winnings at Texaco Food Mart in Milledgeville on May 16, selecting a lump sum prize option of $535,398.06, per the release. The lucky ticket was purchased at Texaco Food Mart, at 1687 N. Columbia St. in Milledgeville.
In addition to this local player, Georgia Lottery players won more than $43 million playing scratchers with two players winning the jackpots in the May 23 Fantasy 5 drawing, each winning $104,977. The tickets were purchased in Cairo and Lawrenceville, according to the release.
The winning numbers that night were 04-20-30-33-35.
Another Palmetto player also won the jackpot in the May 26 Fantasy 5 drawing and won $176,901.
According to the release, winners in Georgia have 180 days from the drawing date to claim prizes.
Proceeds from scratchers and Fantasy 5 benefit education throughout the state.
