Baldwin County Fire Stations 1 and 2 and the Milledgeville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 4:30 p.m.
Aug. 29 at a single-family home on Fox Hill Road.
Firefighters arrived to find the home covered in heavy smoke pouring out toward the porch and fire in two rooms at the home.
“There was a father and son inside the residence. The father had a disability so the son drug him out of the house and when deputies arrived on scene, they assisted in getting them away from the structure,” said Chief Fire Investigator Bradley Towe.
The son did go to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and was released shortly after. The father was reported to have no injuries.
“Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in a few minutes,” said Towe.
According to Towe, every cause has been ruled out except for electrical.
Baldwin County Fire & Rescue is still investigating the cause, though Towe said it will likely be determined to be electrical.
“They showcased exemplary teamwork in a great interior attack,” Baldwin County Fire & Rescue posted on its Facebook.
“Thanks to our Baldwin County Deputies who helped stretch the supply line to the hydrant.”
