Baldwin residents concerned about water meter charges

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners hosted a public hearing on Sept. 15 to discuss four items on the agenda related to provisions, animal control, utilities, and property standards. Seventy people were in the room, including county officials, to listen to or speak during the hearing.

BOC rejects ambulance proposals; requests new ones

Baldwin County will have to wait at least another week before deciding what company will provide ambulance services here beginning in November. Grady EMS operates the current ambulance service in the county but notified the Board of Commissioners on Aug.

BOC approves contracts for capital projects, talks taxes

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners approved two contracts for capital projects and heard updates on the millage rate. Assistant County Manager Dawn Hudson gave an update on the millage rate. After evaluation of the PT-30 rollback, the 2023 millage rate set by the rollback form will be 10.

BOC awards contracts for park projects

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners awarded two design and engineering contracts this past Tuesday for parks and streetscape projects funded by state and federal grant funds. The two projects are part of the grant totaling $6 million received in June, which also included the Aquatic Center.

Staggered terms for BOC members stalled due to split vote

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners voted four months ago to pursue staggered terms for its members, but that request is already in jeopardy. The March 7 vote to request the local legislation to authorize the staggered elections was with a 3-2 split.
