Winning finish for JMA regular season

Last week on the diamond was much improved for John Milledge Academy (JMA) as the Trojans gained three wins compared to just one loss as the team finished out its regular schedule.JMA began the week at Brentwood in Sandersville, where the Trojans won 19-3 in a four-inning, mercy rule final.

Three-in-a-row wins boost Trojans’ record

The John Milledge Academy (JMA, 8-10, 3-4) Trojans hit another rough patch on the diamond last week, losing to Heritage (15-7, 6-4) last Monday and to Dominion Christian (DC, 11-8, 1-0) in game one of a Saturday doubleheader.

Trojans prepare for tournament play

The John Milledge Academy (JMA) Trojans baseball team came away with a win and a loss last week against rival Tattnall Square Academy (TSA) of Macon.In game one on Monday versus the visiting Trojans, JMA came away victorious, beating TSA 7-4.

Walker and Ruff earn GHSA Class 4A Girls Basketball award

In the realm of high school basketball, few accolades shine as brightly as the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) awards. This year, the spotlight is on the head coach of the Baldwin High School Bravettes, Kizzi Walker, who has been named the GHSA 4A Girls Basketball Coach of the Year.

Battle of the Trojans goes to JMA

The John Milledge Academy (JMA) Trojans dropped both games in a home-and-home series against Mount de Sales last week. The Trojans were shut out 5-0 at home last Tuesday by the Cavaliers, then lost 6-1 to the Cavs in Macon on Thursday.

Ruff reflects on career as Bravette

Baldwin Bravettes’ point guard Madison Ruff had a great high school career and ended it as a state champion.Beyond winning a state championship, Ruff surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her career, earned several All-Region honors, and was named the GACA All-State 4A South Player of the Year.

Mixed results for Trojans baseball

John Milledge Academy (JMA) baseball went 1-1 last week in its regular season series vs First Presbyterian Day (FPD), then got shut out 5-0 at home by Mount de Sales on Tuesday.The Trojans hosted the Vikings in Milledgeville last Tuesday and traveled to Macon on Thursday.

Bullard’s roots run deep in Baldwin County

Javon Bullard recently wrapped up his career at Georgia and is now preparing for the 2024 NFL Draft.The former Baldwin Braves’ football star had a great career in Athens, helping the Bulldogs win back-to-back national championships. Bullard also earned several awards and honors along the way.

JMA tops Tiftarea 14-2 on the road

John Milledge Academy (JMA) bounced back on the diamond this past week after losses to Flint River Academy and Heritage put the Trojans at 1-2 on the young season.
