Trojans’ troubles continue against Bulloch

The struggles go on for the John Milledge Academy Trojans, which dropped to 1-4 this season after suffering their third consecutive loss.The Bulloch Academy Gators arrived in Milledgeville last Friday with a 4-0 record and improved to 5-0 after beating the Trojans 35-6 with a strong running game.

Trojans try but Spartans too strong

John Milledge Academy (JMA) struggled at home Friday night in a rare blowout loss to the Athens Academy Spartans who put on an offensive clinic in winning 47-14 over the young Trojans.Athens Academy jumped out to a 14-point lead after the first quarter, but turnovers became the Trojans’ downfall.

The Baldwin Braves dominated the Cross Creek Razorbacks for their first win of the season last Friday at Braves Field in Milledgeville. The Braves won 51-22, marking their largest margin of victory since beating Griffin 47-14 in 2022.

The John Milledge Academy (JMA) Trojans bounced back from a season-opening loss by dominating the Augusta Christian Lions with a 39-19 victory in Martinez last Friday.

Baldwin falls short despite comeback attempt

The Baldwin Braves came one play short of upsetting Northside last Friday, falling 13-12 to the visiting Class 5A Eagles from Warner Robbins.Trailing 10-0 to Northside as the final quarter began, then 13-0 after an Eagles field goal, Baldwin rallied with a pair of touchdowns.

Armyworms invade local home lawns, gardens, crops

Baldwin County and the rest of Georgia are being invaded by armies right now, specifically armies of destructive caterpillars called fall armyworms. The armyworms eat up an entire home lawn or farm hay pasture, forage or row crops in no time flat.
