GMC hosts annual Patriot Day

Georgia Military College (GMC) hosted its 10th annual Patriot Day Ceremony where they paid tribute to the victims who lost their lives on that somber September day, including those in the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, the heroes on Flight 93, first responders, and the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Global War on Terror.

GMC continued the tradition of writing names on the campus bricks of the 3,024 citizens who perished in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and the nearly 7,000 service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Global War on Terror. Upon completion of writing the names, each student walked to the wreath and saluted as a sign of respect.

This ceremony serves as a poignant reminder of the strength that emerges from unity in times of adversity.

With about 250 community members in attendance, alongside GMC cadets and students, Monday was a day of remembrance and honor.
