Georgia College & State University (GCSU) has announced its spring 2023 baseball schedule, opening with a four-game road swing in February and closing with Game 49 on the final day of April. The spring season includes 26 home games.
The GCSU Bobcats will kick off their ’23 campaign with a single game at Emmanuel College Feb. 1, followed by a threegame set Feb. 3-5, at the University of Tampa.
The Bobcats’ home opener will be Feb. 11, in a doubleheader against Eckerd College, with a single against Eckerd again the next day. The home stand will continue Feb. 17-19 as they take on the Mocs of Florida Southern College once each day, followed by Feb. 22 against the Newberry College Wolves.
To close out February, GCSU will travel to Flagler College to kick off Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play.
The Bobcats open March at home with a midweek non-conference contest Mar. 1, against the University of West Georgia Wolves, followed by more PBC action in a Mar. 3-5 series at Young Harris College.
Following a Mar. 7 game at Valdosta State University, GCSU will host an in-conference series Mar. 3-5 versus the Sand Sharks of USC Beaufort, who joined the PBC this season.
After visiting Southern Wesleyan Mar. 14, Georgia College will return home Mar. 17-19, as they host Augusta University, followed by Southern Wesleyan returning the visit Mar. 21.
Back on the road Mar. 24-26, GCSU will be at Georgia Southwestern State University. In last year’s regular season, the Bobcats took a 2-1 series loss, but gained redemption in the PBC tournament with an extra inning win over GSSU.
The next conference series will round out the month of March and kickoff April’s schedule as the blue-and-green take on PBC foe North Georgia Mar. 31-Apr. 2.
After hosting Emmanuel College Apr. 4, GCSU will embark on its longest road-trip series this season, opening with a two-day visit Apr. 7-8, to Lander University, playing once on Friday and a Saturday doubleheader.
The team will then make a one-game stop Apr. 12, at Newberry, followed by a threegame series Apr. 14-16, at Claflin University in South Carolina.
USC Aiken will visit GCSU for a three-game series Apr. 21-23, before the Bobcats make their final regular-season road trip Apr. 26, to play University of West Georgia.
The regular season wraps up for GCSU baseball Apr. 28-30, with a three-game series against conference rivals Columbus State.
At the end of this season the PBC tournament will start May 5, with the top-seeded team to host. The GCSU Bobcats finished the 2022 season with a 33-20 overall record and an 18-9 conference record.
