Freezing weather that swept through over Christmas caused water system failures due to broken water mains that were difficult to track down, according to posts by City Manager Hank Griffeth. A boil water advisory is in effect for all customers who have had low or no pressure since 4 a.m. Dec. 26.

Vehicle full of drugs, guns detained on Christmas Eve

Law enforcement secured a stolen vehicle out of Bibb County filled with drug-related objects Dec. 24. The vehicle was last seen driving north on Highway 49 near the Jones County line, coming into Baldwin County.
