Unknown suspects damages light pole On Feb 1, law enforcement was dispatched to Pecan Hills Apartments in reference to damage to property. The maintenance manager of the property reported a damaged light pole valued at $500 and two bushes valued at $250 that were run over.

Drama brewed last week over the announcement of the removal of Dr. Steve Greer from his role as principal at GMC Preparatory School. On Jan. 31, GMC President William Caldwell sent out an email to GMC Prep parents to inform them it was Greer’s last day as principal at GMC Prep School.

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners adopted a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum during Tuesday’s meeting. Baldwin County Assistant Manager Dawn Hudson read the resolution which requested the approval of an election referendum.

Two adults charged for Black Springs Road murder

On Monday, the GBI released a statement that Malik Smith, 18, and Jarius Washington, 19, both of Milledgeville, were arrested and charged with felony murder related to the death of 18-year-old Syee Devon Havior. In addition, a second unnamed juvenile has been taken into custody related to the case.

GCSU participates in Super Museum Sunday

Georgia College’s Department of Historic Museums hosted free visits at Andalusia Farm, Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion and the Sallie Elvis Davis House for Super Museum Sunday. Super Museum Sunday is a holiday coordinated by the Georgia Historical Society.
