Welcome baby new year

Every New Year’s Day brings hope, joy, and new beginnings. At Atrium Health Navicent, that joy is multiplied as its expert labor and delivery teams welcome thousands of babies each year throughout the region.

The first Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin baby of 2026 was born at the Center at 9:40 a.m. Jan. 1, weighing 5 pounds, 14.7 ounces and 18.5 inches long. Parents Samone Smith and Marquivious Rogers are delighted to welcome baby Siari into their family.

“We’re deeply honored by the trust families place in us during life’s most special moments,” said Laurie Meeks, RN, mother/baby nurse leader. “We are so proud to continuously provide safe, high-quality care to families throughout our community, and welcoming the first baby of the year is always a fun and special milestone for our team.”

Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin is one of 25 Advocate Health hospitals nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its annual list of “Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.” The list classifies these hospitals as “high performing,” the highest level of achievement possible this year.

Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin was also designated a “Maternity Care Access Hospital” for providing quality care to expectant parents in areas that would otherwise have inadequate access to maternity services.
