Officer Dawson Smith was dispatched to an automobile service business in reference to theft. Smith met with the store manager, who stated L’Shandria Mallory brought her vehicle to the shop for it to be serviced. Staff advised Mallory she needed a new valve cover gasket, and she agreed to the work. The work was completed, and Mallory paid $566.55 by credit card. The manager received an invoice Feb. 5 from Mallory’s bank for $566.55 because they reimbursed her for the charge. The reason for the reversed charge was listed as Mallory not receiving the service. Smith attempted to reach Mallory but was unsuccessful. A warrant was secured for a felony theft by deception charge.
What does it mean to have a ‘disorderly house?’
Deputy Nicolas Sides was dispatched to a Meriwether Road address around 5 p.m. Feb. 7 in reference to a domestic incident. Sides first spoke with Jamontrez Waller, who stated his father, Jamon Waller, had taken the car keys away from his girlfriend, Ashley Martin, because she was “severely intoxicated and was insisting on being in her car.”
Jamontrez stated they had argued through the night and was trying to mediate between the two. Martin stated she didn’t want to drive but just wanted her keys returned. Sides spoke with Jamon, who was also heavily intoxicated, who said Jamontrez was the one who took the keys from Martin. Martin kept walking in and out of the house and interrupting the deputy, so she was told to wait outside. The parties separated and were told not to argue, and the deputy left the scene.
At 4:28 a.m., Martin called 911 and said Jamontrez shot at her 4-5 times.
Jamon could be heard in the background of the call saying there was no gun and that Martin had been slapping them around. Sides returned to the house with other deputies. Martin said Jamontrez took her keys and broke them. She also said Jamontrez pulled out a handgun and fired at her 4-5 times. Due to her inebriated and confused state, Martin was unable to explain where they were standing when the shooting allegedly happened, which direction they were facing or where the gun was pointing.
Martin said Jamontrez left the residence, and Milledgeville Police were able to locate it. They detained Jamontrez, who then stated his father was the one to pull out the handgun and shot twice in the air to stop Martin from slapping them around. Jamontrez stated he took the gun and put it in his car so his father wouldn’t get in trouble. The gun was found in the vehicle Jamontrez was driving.
The yard was searched, but no shell casings were found. Jamon insisted nothing occurred and that he did not fire a gun.
All three were placed under arrest for maintaining a disorderly house. Jamon was taken into custody without incident.
When the deputy attempted to put handcuffs on Martin, she pulled her arms away and tried to sit back down. She was eventually forced into the back of a patrol car, but she picked up an misdemeanor obstruction charge for refusing to get into the patrol car.
