The Milledgeville Garden Club awarded two “Yard of the Month” Awards to residents for April/May 2024. The Certificates of Beautification awards were presented to Mark and Amelia Pelton (above) of 221 N. Jefferson St., and Ron and Deb Hobbs of 107 Stevens Drive NW.

Milledgeville Main Street celebrated the start of summer with its annual Hometown Celebration in the heart of downtown Milledgeville.The event began in 2014 as a community celebration for winning the national title of a Great American Main Street City by the Main Street America organization.

The Georgia Power Lake Resources team coordinated Lake Sinclair Earth Day Clean-Up April 19. The Georgia Power Lake Resources team plans and coordinates lake clean ups annually around Georgia Power lakes statewide to keep the lake shorelines beautiful.

Carrington Woods Garden Club visits Beulahland

Carrington Woods Garden Club visits Beulahland

The Carrington Woods Garden Club visited Beulahland Hydrangea Gardens and nursery in Bolingbroke, outside of Macon. The owner, Gary Starrett, gave the club a tour of the beautiful variety of hydrangeas and other plants. After the tour, the club met at Cracker Barrel for lunch.

GOWA revisits Milledgeville after 30 years

After 30 years, the Georgia Outdoor Writers Association (GOWA) returned to Milledgeville April 18-21 to host its annual spring conference.
