The American Red Cross is asking Georgians statewide to help patients in need by making an appointment to give blood or platelets. The Red Cross said donors of all blood types remain critical to keeping momentum up and the state’s blood supply stable as spring begins.

The people of Milledgeville shared a night under the stars March 25 in the warm spring heat as the community celebrated the 101st birthday of novelist Flannery O’Connor.The celebration was held at Andalusia Farm the former home of O’Connor.

Students and community members in Milledgeville have a chance to experience live music in a relaxed and welcoming setting at “Music at The Mill,” a free monthly event hosted by New City Church at the Mill.Held at The Mill on the last Friday of every month, the event begins at 7 p.m.
