The Milledgeville- Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce held a member appreciation event Oct. 30, sponsored by Georgia Military College at the NewDay USA Center of Leadership. Chamber members gathered to mingle, enjoy a buffet-style dinner, and celebrate another year of community connection.

Georgia College & State University finished third at the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Men’s Cross-Country Championship Oct. 25 at the Bobcat Cross Country Course.It the first time the Bobcats had hosted the Peach Belt meet since 2016 when GCSU hosted it at Council Farms.

Georgia College & State University’s High Achievers program held its “Lights on Afterschool” celebration Oct. 26 as part of a nationwide initiative to highlight the benefits and accomplishments of middle and high school after-school programs.

Death After Dark: The Death Industry of the 19th Century

Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion hosts Death After Dark each October, allowing people to tour the mansion by candlelight after usual hours to learn about legends, death, mourning practices, and more from the 19th century.Docents in mourning attire lead three different tours on the chosen night.

Deputy Jarvis Culver (left) is retiring from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office after more than three decades of service to the citizens of Baldwin County. Culver began his career with the sheriff’s office in 1993 and has faithfully served in a variety of roles throughout his tenure.
