Milledgeville Main Street hosts Beach Bash

Milledgeville Main Street, in partnership with Five Star Automotive Group, hosted First Friday’s Beach Bash in the parking lot area of the Deep Roots stage, June 2.

With 80 tons of sand covering the concrete area, a part of downtown was transformed into a mini beach complete with water activities, volleyball courts, limbo, face painting, and a chance to visit the Artrageous Airbrush truck. Throughout the evening, two DJs played a collection of country and pop music on the south side of the beach.

Approaching the beach area, guests stood on the sidewalk holding signs with hashtags and a “Honk if you love Milly!” sign. Tables also lined the walkway leading to the beach with various arts and crafts, free books, and other activities from multiple organizations.

And on the street, attendees looked forward to receiving a sweet treat from the Kona Ice Truck.

Welcoming in the summer and summer break, Milledgeville Main Street regarded the night as “sand-sational” with a good turnout.
