Lockerly Arboretum hired Kensey Amerson as the director of education.
Amerson’’s extensive experience developing and executing educational programs for various outdoor-focused organizations for all age groups makes her a perfect match for Lockerly. She is primed to bring fresh and innovative ideas to Lockerly’s educational programming.
“I was thrilled when I heard about this position opening at Lockerly. It is the perfect next step in the culmination of my previous experiences, and I am so excited to work with Jennifer (Pollard), the board, and all of the staff to expand Lockerly’s programming and take the Arboretum to the next level,” said Amerson.
Lockerly Arboretum Executive Director Jennifer Pollard shared Amerson’s excitement.

Lockerly is a free and opento- the-public arboretum, just one mile from historic downtown Milledgeville. It provides a living museum and outdoor classroom with a diverse collection of trees and shrubs from around the world, as well as native plants. It provides educational programs that follow the Georgia Performance Standards and are offered to groups of all ages.
