Georgia Power and local businesses clean Lake Sinclair

The Georgia Power Lake Resources team coordinated Lake Sinclair Earth Day Clean-Up April 19. The Georgia Power Lake Resources team plans and coordinates lake clean ups annually around Georgia Power lakes statewide to keep the lake shorelines beautiful.

It was a collaborative effort between Georgia Power’s Lake Resources team, Citizens of Georgia Power Milledgeville chapter, the Georgia Power Plant Branch team, and contractors at Plant Branch, AIS Infrastructure, ECOMATERIAL Technologies, Geosyntec Consultants, and Oyamacor - Ucoya.

The contractors provided supplies for the event, lunch for all the volunteers, and brought teams to participate in the clean-up efforts around the lake. Other organizations, such as Chick-fil-A of Milledgeville, Walmart of Milledgeville, Waste Away Environmental, Griffin Lumber & Hardware, Grease Monkey, Zaxby’s, Tidal Wave Car Wash, and Shane’s Rib Shack also stepped up to support the event by providing the dumpster, giveaways, and gift cards for volunteers.

In total, 112 volunteers safely removed over 2,348 pounds of trash from the Lake Sinclair shoreline.

“The support of the Georgia Power employees, contractors at Plant Branch, and local businesses made the 2024 Lake Sinclair Earth Day Clean-Up such a success,” said Amanda Arnold, PR & Communications Specialist for Georgia Power.
