Wilson primarily uses gouache, watercolor, and acrylic paints on various papers, canvases, and boards to create his paintings. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the beauty and creativity of Chad Wilson’s work firsthand.

What: Step in Time: Historical Dance When: 2 p.m. Where: Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion (120 S. Clarke St.) More info: Join Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion for a historical dance workshop that will transport you back to the 1800s. Guests will be taught dances like the waltz step, Virginia reel, and more. This class will give two hours of historic fun in the beautiful Mansion. Space is limited. The fee is $15 per person.

What: Jazz at the Magnolia When: 7:30-9 p.m. Where: GCSU’s Magnolia Ballroom (231 W. Hancock St.) More info: The 6th annual Jazz at the Magnolia features trombonist Bill Gibson. This year the festival is expanding to include other art forms that draw their inspiration from Jazz and related musical forms to create a festival atmosphere. Tickets are $20 each and include refreshments. Tickets can be purchased on the Visit Milledgeville event page or by visiting the Marlor House, at 201 N. Wayne St., in Milledgeville. This event supports Milledgeville Allied Arts and Georgia College and State University programming and scholarships.

Join us for a guided walking tour of some of Milledgeville’s hauntings throughout downtown. The exhibit will showcase a collection of spooky art by local artists along with haunting photos of Milledgeville’s most haunted places, complete with the historical background behind the hauntings. Paintings in oil, acrylic, and water color by Harold Champagne, and handmade wooden bowls by Richard Dyke will be offered for sale. A limited number of $20 tickets will be available beginning Sept. 9, providing guests with two pours of wine (or soft beverage) and a variety of cheeses and hors d’oeuvres while shopping and meeting the artists.
