What: “Thank you for your service” Exhibit When: 2-4 p.m. Where: The Marlor House More info: Allied Arts will be displaying art by military veterans from the Georgia War Veterans Home to honor them for their service from July 7-21st. Stop by to support your local vets and thank them for their service! Opening Reception for the exhibit is on July 7 from 2 - 4 p.m. The contributing artists from the Georgia War Veterans Home will be present at this event.

JULY 10-14

What: Peewee Basketball Camp When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Where: GC Wellness Center More info: Open to ages 5-12, this fun camp is designed for developing young players who want to improve their basketball skills and learn the rules of the game. The morning sessions will involve learning skills for all levels of players while the afternoons are filled with actual games. We will also be going to the pool, so don’t forget a swimsuit and towel. JULY 17-21

What: Songwriting Camp When: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Where: Health Sciences Movement Lab More info: Open to musicians of all levels, this program will give campers the opportunity to express themselves through songwriting. They will get to learn basic songwriting techniques and how to use digital audio workstations and MIDI programming and recording. Camp is open for 5th through 8th graders and costs $200. What: GC Soccer ID Camp When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Where: GC West Campus Soccer Field More info: This one-day camp is for girls grades 9-12 interested in showcasing their skills and playing soccer at the next level. The Bobcat ID Camp is open to all prospective studentathletes, giving them an important opportunity to gain next-level recognition for their talents and skills. Camp costs $125. What: Christmas in July When: 7 p.m. Where: Downtown Milledgeville More info: Start your Christmas shopping early in downtown Milledgeville with over 30 local vendors that will be set up for easy shopping access. Also, browse through the downtown boutiques and dine at restaurants! Live music will also be available from 5-7 p.m. by Ill Wind Band, Little Milly Market vendors, and a food truck or two.

What: Youth Baseball Camp When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Where: John Kurtz Baseball Field More info: For ages 5-12 and costs $150. We will work on the fundamentals of baseball and playing games. What: Kids’ University at Georgia College When: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Mon-Fri) Where: Georgia College West Campus More info: Summer just wouldn’t be the same without the excitement and adventure of Kids’ University! This year, the spirit and tradition of Kids’ University day camp continues with a summer full of games, outdoor fun, swimming, arts and crafts, and new friendships. Campers will have daily opportunities to learn and have incredible amounts of FUN through learning, exploratory, and recreational activities. What: Baseball Prospect Camp When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Where: John Kurtz Field More info: For rising 9th through 12th graders and costs $165. The camp will include a pro-style workout, defensive and offensive instruction, and a competitive game to finish up the day. Lunch is not provided. What: WIC Nutrition Farmer’s Market When: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Where: Baldwin County Health Department (100 Ireland Dr. NW) More info: North Central Health District’s county health departments and the Felton Homes WIC Office is hosting the annual farmers market for participants of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program. Each farmers market will offer fresh fruits and vegetables to WIC participants. Supplies are limited, and markets operate on a first come, first served basis, so visitors are encouraged to arrive early. WIC participants, or their designated alternates, must bring their WIC ID card to take advantage of these markets. For visitors not enrolled in WIC, fresh produce can be purchased from attending vendors.

What: 45th Anniversary Celebrations When: 7 p.m. Where: First Independent Methodist Church, 107 Imperial Church Rd., Eatonton More info: FIMC will honor Ron and Bron Smith, for 45 years’ service as pastors this weekend. Ron Smith joined FIMC in July 1978 and since then, many hundreds of lives have been touched by their ministries. Many church members will be sharing testimonies of salvation, healing and deliverance. Friday evening’s celebration will be highlighted by a performance by Grammynominated gospel group Southwind, featuring Clint Brown.

What: Downtown Getdown Concert When: 7-10 p.m. Where: City Center Stage, Eatonton More info: This free concert will include a live performance from The Vintage Vixens (hits from the 1960s and ‘70s). Bring your lawn chairs, coolers, and dancing shoes.

What: Gospel and Praise Concert When: 6 p.m. Where: Putnam County Middle School, 140 Sparta Hwy., Eatonton More info: Join the Calvary Gospel Singers of Milledgeville, plus many others, presented by Eatonton’s Mothers Against Crime. All proceeds will support local high school senior scholarships. Refreshments available. Tickets $10 each, available from all MAC members or at the door the night of the concert.
