What: Youth Tennis Camp - Session 1 When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Where: Tennis Courts at Centennial Center More info: Camp sessions are ages 5-17 and designed for all levels of play and will consist of comprehensive instruction, physical conditioning and match play. In addition, each camper will receive at least three hours of small group instruction per day. All instruction will be given by the Georgia College coaching staff as well as current and former student athletes. Camp is $185. Register for your camp by visiting summercamps.gcsu.edu/kids-u.

What: Kids’ University at Georgia College When: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Mon-Fri) Where: Georgia College West Campus More info: Summer just wouldn’t be the same without the excitement and adventure of Kids’ University! This year, the spirit and tradition of Kids’ University day camp continues with a summer full of games, outdoor fun, swimming, arts and crafts, and new friendships. Campers will have daily opportunities to learn and have incredible amounts of FUN through learning, exploratory, and recreational activities. What: Daylily Show When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Where: Baldwin County Rec. Dept. Banquet room on Highway 22 More info: The Central Georgia Daylily Club will hold its annual Daylily Show. The show is sanctioned by the American Hemerocallis Society and will be judged by certified trained judges from out of the county. Only registered daylilies can be entered in a certified show. Go to daylilies.org to check the name of your daylily to certify if it is registered. Entries are accepted from 7-10:30 a.m. Judging will begin at 11 a.m. The show will be open to the public from 1-4 p.m. A limited number of daylily plants will be for sale. What: Learning in Retirement When: 11:15 a.m. Where: Freedom Church, 500 Underwood Rd., Milledgeville More Info: An informative speaker will talk while lunch is served. Lunch is $15. What: First Friday: Beach Bash When: 6-8 p.m. Where: Downtown Milledgeville More info: First Fridays are a monthly fun & festive event with live music, face painting, and activities for the young as well as young at heart. Participating First Fridays merchants, restaurants, cultural venues and nightlife hotspots stay open late, present special events, and offer discounts on the first Friday of every month.

What: Peewee Basketball Camp When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Where: GC Wellness Center More info: Open to ages 5-12, this fun camp is designed for developing young players who want to improve their basketball skills and learn the rules of the game. The morning sessions will involve learning skills for all levels of players while the afternoons are filled with actual games. We will also be going to the pool, so don’t forget a swimsuit and towel. What: Songwriting Camp When: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Where: Health Sciences Movement Lab More info: Open to musicians of all levels, this program will give campers the opportunity to express themselves through songwriting. They will get to learn basic songwriting techniques and how to use digital audio workstations and MIDI programming and recording. Camp is open for 5th through 8th graders and costs $200.
