What: Black Voices When: 7:30 p.m. Where: Magnolia Ballroom at GCSU More info: Warp Trio, the Davidson Fine Arts Orchestra of Augusta and award-winning emcee, LiK WuiD, will join the Georgia College & State University Orchestra in Magnolia Ballroom for an evening of classical, jazz, hip-hop and spoken word. All works in the program, “Black Voices,” were created by African-American artists. “Black Voices” evolved from an effort to share with audiences some less-known contributions of African Americans to the cultural tapestry of America.

Marriage is the main topic of seven opera scenes performed by 11 students. Operas are in English, Italian and German and include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro; Domenico Cimarosa’s The Secret Marriage; Gioachino Rossini’s The Cinderella; and Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd. Her exhibit, Seeking Asylum, will have 35 images on canvas of Central State Hospital. There is no admission to the exhibit; however, donations for the repair of the water damage to the Brown-Stetson-Sanford House will be gratefully accepted. Photographs will be available for purchase.
