BHS named region champion at GHSA literary competition

Baldwin High School hosted the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Region 4-AAA Literary Competition for the first time this year and brought home the title of Region 4-AAA Champions.

The GHSA Literary Competition is an event where students showcase their talents in a variety of literacy-based categories, including extemporaneous speaking, dramatic interpretation, essay writing, and vocal performances.

Under the leadership of literary coach Nick Thompson, who also serves as the regional coordinator, and with support from James Bell and Amy Zipperer, the Baldwin High School Literary Team earned top honors across multiple events: Region 4-AAA Champions Girls' Trio (1st Place): Josi Scott, Kelsie Thompson, and Saitalea Riner Boys' Quartet (1st Place): Jeff Moore, Sean Pate, Antonio Harper, and Mason Pruitt Dramatic Interpretation (1st Place): Annabell Bonner and Gabrielle Nelson performed The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe

Literary Analysis Essay (1st Place): Saitalea Riner Comedic Dramatic Interpretation (1st Place): Gabrielle Nelson performing Letters from a Nut Every member of the Baldwin High School team advanced to compete at the GHSA State Literary Competition in Bremen.
