Hicks out as Braves’ head football coach

Baldwin High School’s head football coach Jesse Hicks confirmed to The Baldwin Bulletin Thursday, Nov. 16, that he was dismissed from his coaching duties by school administration.

BHS head coach dismissed from coaching duties

Updated on Nov. 21 Baldwin High School’s Head Coach Jesse Hicks confirmed to The Baldwin Bulletin Thursday, Nov. 16 that he was dismissed from his coaching duties by school administration.

Braves beat Huskies 20-19 in region opener

At home in Milledgeville, the Baldwin Braves won their most tightly contested game of the year last Friday beating Howard 20-19 to improve 4-2 on the season. Both teams entered the matchup at 3-2, and both were in their first region game of the season.

Baldwin tops Washington County, 20-10

The Baldwin Braves (3-1) enjoyed a good bounce-back win last Friday night with a 20-10 decision over Washington County (1-2) after suffering their first loss two weeks ago against Ware County.

Gators take bite out of Braves

Baldwin’s first loss came last Friday night to defending Class 5A state champion Ware County. The Gators defeated the Braves 48-20 in Waycross. Baldwin hosted Ware County last season and lost 41-3 to the eventual state champs, which went 14-0 in 2022.

Baldwin pounds Peach County in season opener

After a disappointing 2022 season, Baldwin started 2023 with a win over Peach County last Friday. The Braves traveled down to Fort Valley and left with a 34-13 victory over the Class AAA Trojans. Baldwin head coach Jesse Hicks said he liked what he saw from his players in the 2023 season opener.

Baldwin banking on better results

Following a disappointing season a year ago, going 4-7 and losing to Bainbridge in the first round of the playoffs, the Baldwin Braves are looking for much more in 2023. “Yeah, 4-7 is definitely not where we want to be,” Baldwin head coach Jessie Hicks said of his team’s previous record.
