Tickets to the theater are never a bad idea. Whether it’s comedy, the classics or a little southern rock, The Plaza Arts Center has something coming for practically everyone.
The Plaza is celebrating its 15th season in 2023 and reaching that milestone means it has a jam-packed year ahead! Nearly every month has a live entertainment show scheduled.
January starts the year off with a bang with The Doo Wop Project, in which five Broadway singers belt out the music of the eras in an old-school styled presentation.
February brings comedian Karen Mills, a national-touring performer for more than 25 years, while March features One Night in Memphis, a rockin’ tribute to the music of legendary Sun Records recording artists Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Previously featured this year as an Eagles tribute band, the Georgia Players Guild will return to The Plaza in May to perform Sounds of Georgia, a musical journey through all genres and ages of Georgia music, featuring the sounds of Little Richard to the Allman Brothers to Alan Jackson, among others.
August is a great time to reminisce and bring out the nostalgia and The Plaza Arts Center is doing just that by presenting Rocketman: An Elton John Tribute. And September features a repeated crowd favorite as A1A: The Official Jimmy Buffett Tribute will be returning to help Eatonton “Get Tropical!”
In October, when the weather is juuuust right, The Plaza will host a Homegrown Talent showcase on the front lawn, featuring the absolute best local performers in the Lake Country.
Finally, the Joe Gransden Big Band Christmas Celebration will take over The Plaza stage in December with a special evening planned to get you and yours in the holiday spirit.
All these shows are bound to sell out, so order tickets early to ensure the best seats! Precise dates and ticket sales for each of these 2023 shows are available now at plazacenter.org, meaning it’s not too late to purchase for this year’s gift giving. What a great way to spread holiday cheer!
