Dear Editor,
Since the COVID-19 era, Americans are awakening to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) malign influence worldwide.
In 2006, I alerted
readers in a Letter to the Editor to think twice if planning trips to China for quick organ transplants: they would be unwitting participants in forced organ harvesting, a heinous crime. The main victims, still today, are peaceful practitioners of Falun Gong, a spiritual practice rooted in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, targeted for extermination since 1999 by the CCP. Rumors reported the CCP would stop this, but they have not.
Back then, it was hard to believe this was happening, even with facts provided by Falun Gong media established to disseminate the truth of the persecution.
Mainstream media like the New York Times with strong CCP interests avoided telling the truth or offered twisted, if any, information. For years, the CCP paid the newspaper to carry a colorful ad-like insert on Sundays, actually CCP propaganda. Later, a NYT article referred to “involuntary organ donation” in China rather than brutal organ harvesting.
In 2006–2007, Canadian parliamentarian David Kilgore and human rights attorney David Matas published Bloody Harvest, revealing statistics of escalated numbers of organ transplants coinciding with heightening numbers of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners.
In 2019, Sir Geoffrey Nice, heading a China tribunal, concluded that “Forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China. ... Falun Gong practitioners have been one ... probably the main … source of organ supply.” In a 2021 follow-up, Sir Nice stated the continuation of forced organ harvesting is “threatening mankind.”
Miraculously, in 2024, a living survivor of organ harvesting, Cheng Pei Ming, somehow escaped and testified at a D.C. press conference, showing his scars.
After more than 20 years, the U.S. legislature is close to passing the Falun Gong Protection Act, S817, supporting human rights for innocent prisoners of conscience in China, while sanctioning all involved with the CCP’s inhuman organ harvesting industry — all doctors, university training staff, and organ recipients. The Bill’s passage could greatly strengthen our national security, said former Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom Brownback: denial of human rights is the CCP’s great vulnerability.
Passed unanimously in the House, the bill must now pass the Senate. Other information regarding Falun Gong and the newest forms of transnational persecution by the CCP targeting the premier Chinese classical dance company, Shen Yun, can be found on faluninfo.net and ShenYun.com.
