Visit Milledgeville announced that the Southern Gothic Gravel Roll, a cycling race, will take place at Walter B. Williams Park on Saturday, Nov. 1. Riders will navigate scenic gravel routes, experiencing challenging terrain and the natural beauty of the region.
The race weekend offers participants the chance to explore the area’s historic charm, vibrant dining scene, and welcoming community.
Organizers anticipate that hundreds of riders, along with their families and supporters, will attend the event, contributing to a strong economic impact for the community. Local hotels, restaurants, and shops are expected to see an uptick in business as visitors stay, dine, and explore everything Milledgeville has to offer. “Hosting the Southern Gothic Gravel Roll is a fantastic way to showcase Milledgeville’s growing reputation as a destination for cycling enthusiasts,” said Christina Tillman, sales manager for Visit Milledgeville. “We’re excited to welcome riders and their families to our community and give them the opportunity to experience Milledgeville’s hospitality while supporting our local businesses and attractions.”
Admission to the event is free for spectators and is open to the public.
