Milledgeville Theatre Collective (MTC) is bringing “Father of the Bride,” the stage comedy that inspired the classic films.
The fall production is at 7 p.m.
Oct. 2-4 at Woodland Acres at Robbins Farm, 223 Cox Woodland Rd. NW in Milledgeville.
Directed by Jennifer Watkins, vice president of MTC, this “heartwarming and hilarious” play tells the story of a father whose world is turned upside down when his daughter announces her engagement.
What begins as a family milestone spirals into a whirlwind of planning, emotions, and comedic chaos.
In a special twist, the production will be staged at a real wedding venue, immersing audiences in the atmosphere of the Banks family’s big day.
Guests will feel like they are part of the wedding celebration as the story unfolds around them.
“Regardless of whether you’re a father, a mother, married, or single, we all can relate to the experience of loving someone and letting them go,” said Watkins. “’Father of the Bride’ is a play that will make you laugh and cry, and it’s a great opportunity to connect with local theatre lovers.”
There are three different tickets for different experiences. The VIP experience includes padded seating in the premium section, a drink voucher, and a personal pre-show thank you callout. Preferred seating tickets include padded seating in the priority section and then there is general admission.
Tickets can be purchased at milledgevilletheatre.org/tickets.
