The Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting proposals for the 2025–26 Leadership Baldwin Class Project.
Leadership Baldwin was created out of the Milledgeville- Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce in 1981 to cultivate the talents and knowledge of civic-minded citizens who aspire to participate in shaping the future of their community. Over the course of the eight-month program, the participants will attend one class per month in addition to completing the class project.
During each cohort, participants in the Leadership Baldwin program collaborate on a meaningful group project designed to benefit a local Chamber nonprofit, while gaining hands-on experience applying their leadership skills.
The Chamber invites nonprofit Chamber members to submit project proposals that align with their mission and would benefit from community engagement, strategic input, or on-the-ground support from a dedicated team of emerging leaders.
The 2023-24 Leadership Baldwin Class partnered with Lockerly Arboretum to help develop a community- informed strategic plan. Through surveys and outreach, the class gathered feedback from residents and stakeholders, providing Lockerly with valuable insight into community needs and ideas for enhancing their programming and outreach efforts.
“This project gives our Leadership Baldwin participants the opportunity to truly connect with the community in a meaningful way,” said Kara Lassiter, president and CEO of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber. “Each class brings fresh energy and perspective to an organization that’s making a difference locally, and we’re proud to help facilitate that collaboration.”
The selected 2025–26 project will allow this year’s class the chance to make a lasting impact while developing leadership, collaboration, and project management skills. Proposal submissions are due by Friday, Aug. 1.
