What: Stumpery Workshop When: 2 p.m. Where: Hwy. 441 S., 1534 Irwinton Rd. More info: The world’s first stumpery was created in Staffordshire, England, in the mid-19th century by James Bateman. A Victorianera obsession began. Using old stumps, root balls, ferns, mosses, and other low-light thriving plants, gardeners created unique, almost fantastical spaces all over the United Kingdom and beyond. Tickets for this event are $10 for members, and $20 for nonmembers.
