George Sherman Carpenter, Jr., 94, of Milledgeville, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2025. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Nan Davis Carpenter; daughter, Karyn Carpenter Martin and husband Ken Martin of Jefferson; grandson, Matthew Davis Martin and his fiancé Payton Cox; niece, Melinda Lawrence Leonard (Greg Malhoit) of Raleigh, North Carolina; nephew, George Lawson Lawrence of Milledgeville; and great-nephews, Health Lawrence, Bart Lawrence, Matthew Leonard and Justin Leonard.
