BOE and Butler Ford to present new car to teacher of the year

>> BALDWIN COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Baldwin County Board of Education, in partnership with Butler Automotive Group of Milledgeville, is proud to honor the 2025 District Teacher of the Year, William Brunson, with a new car. A special presentation will occur April 4 at the Butler Ford Dealership.

Brunson was selected as the Baldwin County School District’s 2025 Teacher of the Year in November during the Teacher of the Year Banquet, where his 33 years of outstanding service to students and colleagues were celebrated. Originally from Great Falls, South Carolina, Brunson discovered his passion for teaching while working with special needs children and adults at a recreational center. This transformative experience led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a Master of Education in Secondary Administration and Supervision from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

For the past three years, Brunson has served as special education teacher at Baldwin High School.

He is widely respected for his student-centered philosophy, which focuses on building strong relationships that foster trust, motivation, and academic success — especially for students with unique needs and talents.

Matt Brabham, general manager of Butler Automotive Group, will lead the presentation ceremony at its Milledgeville dealership. Following the presentation, attendees will enjoy a tour of the showroom and an opportunity to celebrate Mr. Brunson’s achievements.

The Baldwin County Board of Education extended sincere gratitude to Butler Automotive Group for its ongoing partnership and support of local educators. Congratulations to Brunson for this welldeserved honor, which exemplifies the values and commitment of the Baldwin County Schools.
