Biyogmam named BHS STAR Student

The Milledgeville Chamber of Commerce honored Baldwin County High School STAR student Jessica Biyogmam and her STAR teacher Michael Womack at the annual STAR Student Banquet.

Biyogmam earned the distinguished title by being the senior with the highest SAT score in her school who also ranks in the top 10% of her class. When asked why she chose Womach as her STAR teacher, Biyogmam highlighted how Womack’s lessons extended beyond the classroom, preparing students for future academic challenges.

“When I started dual enrollment and took a psychology class, there were so many concepts I already knew from Mr.

Womack’s class because he taught us how to apply them in our writing.”

She also spoke to his dedication and encouragement, noting that he has always been willing to help his students, whether by proofreading essays, writing letters of recommendation, or simply offering support and humor.

As Biyogmam looks ahead to her future, she has set her sights on making a difference in the medical field.

“After graduation, I will be attending the University of Georgia to major in biology with the goal of becoming an interventional cardiologist. I want to address healthcare disparities within small towns and marginalized countries by opening small clinics.”

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program honors students and the educators who inspire them, fosters a strong connection between schools and the broader business- civic community.

By recognizing academic excellence, the program highlights the role of mentorship in student success while reinforcing the importance of education in shaping future professionals.

The Baldwin County School District applauds Jessica Biyogmam and Michael Womack for their remarkable accomplishments. Their dedication and hard work exemplify the spirit of the STAR program, and the district wishes them continued success.
