More info: Thanks to an anonymous donor, adopters can take home one of these beautiful animals, which have been in the shelter for over a year, for only $25. The donor will cover vaccinations. We will have hot dogs and drinks.

Inspired by Southern Gothic artists like Sally Mann, Flannery O’Connor, and Johnny Cash, Wood combines film and digital images to communicate through her lens a deep and meaningful connection with the region.

Jefferson NE, Milledgeville More info: Walking with Moms in Need (WWMIN) is open Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m., except on major holidays. A monthly distribution of 50 diapers is available for infants and toddlers. The parent must register for the diaper program with a valid photo I.D. and a copy of the child’s birth certificate. It tracks five residents as they fight to remain housed through a reliance on a system of single-room occupancy hotels.
