Downtown Milledgeville is gearing up for First Friday events in 2025. Beginning at 5 p.m., downtown will offer free axe throwing, live music, food trucks, and both a chainsaw and blacksmith demonstration. There will be a free gift for the first 200 people who arrive wearing flannel or plaid.
The 100 block of South Wayne Street will have local food truck vendors selling to the public. Vendors will include Southern Dawgs BBQ, Saucy Saucy, Agave Azul, Smitty’s Boiling Crab Pot, Glo’s Thighs & Pies, Funnel Bar, Annie Lou’s Seafood & More, Davi’s Snacks & Mini Pancakes, Bigg Will’s peanuts, and Main Squeeze lemonade.
The downtown businesses and restaurants will be staying open late for shopping, dining, and cocktails with sponsoring restaurants serving out of First Friday Cocktail Caddy Cups to take drinks out of the downtown restaurants. Live music from 6-8 p.m. will be provided by Milledgeville’s own Fall Line Rambler. Music will range from classic rock to blues with a little bit of country.
Splinter’s Axe House & Tavern out of Warner Robins will have a mobile axe throwing trailer for the community to enjoy. Closed toed shoes are required. Nemo’s Workshop out of Walhalla, S.C. will be showing his talent with chainsaw carving. He will also have merchandise for sale. Blue Collar Knife & Tool will be doing live demonstrations with modern forge and anvil hammering to make railroad spike knives. Fire pits will be scattered down the block to add some warmth to the night, although the weather forecast looks amazing.
The young and young at heart will have a blast at the Meet the Bobcats section. Georgia College athletics will be hosting this area with student athletes, sport simulations, Thunder in real life as well as a huge blowup Thunder.
Don’t miss the opportunity for a sasquatch sighting when Milly’s own Bigfoot Billy decides to visit. He will be ready to pose and delight the downtown community with his 7 ft. tall self. Keep an eye out for Bigfoot Billy and share your sightings.
Selfies will be available for those who can find him.
Thanks to champion sponsors Fickling Lake Country Realty, WMVG 104.5, and Robins Financial Credit Union that continue to make First Friday’s FREE and fun to the community.
