CRIME WATCH

On Dec. 25, law enforcement was dispatched to a reported hit-and-run vehicle accident at 118 Laverne Circle. Upon arrival, an officer made contact with Robin and Zoe White. Robin was the registered owner of the vehicle that suffered severe damage to the rear, which appeared to be consistent with a rear-end collision. While investigating the scene, an officer located a front license plate that appeared to have detached from the offending vehicle. Robin, Zoe, and Zoe's brother, Nigel White, all reported hearing a loud 'banging sound' outside, which they initially believed was fireworks. They later went outside and discovered Robin's vehicle had been hit. They noted that the offending vehicle was no longer at the scene. The family asked nearby neighbors if anyone had security cameras, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Following the incident, an officer conducted a search on Flock cameras in reference to Dodge Ram trucks that were near the area of the hit and run. Two hits for Dodge Ram trucks were located, however, the officer was unable to observe damage to either of the mentioned trucks because of the angle of the Flock cameras’ pictures.

Burglar steals fireproof safe

On Dec. 26, law enforcement made contact with the complainant, Dana Brown, at 106 Stembridge Rd., in reference to his bathroom window being broken. Brown stated he left his house and returned later. When he left the residence again to go to work, his son called him, and informed him that the master bathroom window was shattered. Brown stated prior to his earlier departure from the location, the window was intact. Brown reported there was a set of tire tracks in his yard that did not belong to his vehicle, as he only takes one path in and out of his driveway. An officer located a pick-axe in the yard near the broken window. According to the incident report, “based on the height of the window and the location of the pick-axe, it is likely that the pick-axe was used to break the window.” Brown stated a fireproof safe was missing from his bedroom. Inside the safe were two Baldwin High School class rings and nine U.S. currency gold dollars.

Pair trespass into vacant trailer

On Dec. 27, Sgt. Robinson and Officer Kelli Goss were dispatched to 119 Ogden Rd. regarding a trespassing incident. Randy Garza advised dispatch that two males were inside a vacant trailer he was moving. When he confronted the males, they ran off. Deputies Schneider and Sides spotted the males and informed Goss that they had run toward Belfair Drive.

Robinson and Goss searched the area and made contact with two males at 108 Ogden Terrace, who matched the description provided. One male was identified as Jaiden Seabrooks and the second was a juvenile. Seabrooks and the juvenile stated they were “just curious” and wanted to see inside the residence. Garza wanted to press charges against Seabrooks and he was placed under arrest for criminal trespass. Seabrooks was transported to the jail and turned over to jail staff without incident. The juvenile was turned over to his mother after the investigation was complete.
