Milledgeville Police Department Chief Dray Swicord sent officers to Washington County Tuesday night to provide extra patrols and relief for law enforcement at Sandersville Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Over the past weekend, Hurricane Helene made landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida’s Gulf Coast and brought devastation from Florida to the Carolinas with impacts across multiple states.
