Shell casings located on West Thomas Circle
On May 24, law enforcement was dispatched to the intersection of Earnest Byner Street and West Thomas Street in reference to shots fired. When law enforcement arrived on scene, they were informed by witnesses that the shots possibly came from West Thomas Circle. An officer attempted to speak with individuals in front of 1214 W.
Thomas Circle, but reportedly no one wished to speak with him or other officers on scene. While canvassing the scene with other officers, multiple 9 mm shell casings were found in the roadway of West Thomas Street heading towards Earnest Byner Street, and there were approximately six 40 caliber shell casings in front of 1214 W. Thomas Circle. A silver Cadillac’s front window also had a bullet hole in it. Due to the nature of the call, the case was turned over to detectives.
Woman breaks into home and harms homeowner
On May 27, law enforcement was dispatched to 1142 S. Warren St. in reference to an altercation that occurred.
Jimekia Havior advised earlier this date that she received a call from her ex-girlfriend, Moneshia Bullock, who threatened to come to her house and fight her. Later that day, Bullock kicked in her door and was followed by Leasia Smith, Destiny Reynolds, and Smith’s girlfriend. Havior advised Smith and her girlfriend held her down, while Bullock and Reynolds hit her. Havior stated her pregnant daughter came out of the bathroom and tried getting the women off of her and got hit. The daughter said she walked into the hallway at the same time the door burst down and saw Bullock, Smith, and Reynolds attack her mother.
She tried to intervene and got hit in the process, causing her lower stomach pain.
The daughter was checked by emergency medical services and advised if things got worse, she would take herself to the hospital for an evaluation. A third witness also stated he saw Bullock break the door down. Warrants for damage to property in the second degree were taken for Bullock. A warrant for simple battery was taken out for Smith and Reynolds.
Woman steals more than $2,000 of merchandise from Lowe’s On May 28, law enforcement was contacted by Asset Protection at Lowes, 1731 N. Columbia St., in reference to a theft that already occurred. On May 17, a black female entered the business and stole roughly $1,242.96 in merchandise.
Asset Protection personnel could not provide a detailed list of what was taken. On April 30, the same woman reportedly stole about $925.98 in merchandise. Personnel could not provide a detailed list of what was taken from this incident either. Law enforcement viewed security video of the alleged suspect, where she can be seen entering and exiting the store for both occurrences and ran the tag provided in the videos.
The driver’s license picture of the registered owner of the tag was not the same person on the video. The investigation is ongoing.
