Woman conceals methamphetamine from officers
On April 5, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on a blue Honda Civic due to the registered owner and driver, Tamrah Mullis, having an outstanding warrant through the Spalding County Sheriff's Office. During her detainment and transport to jail, Mullis continued to act as if she were hiding something around her waist line. The officer asked her at multiple points during detainment and the drive if she was concealing anything illegal and she said no. At the booking area, a detention officer conducted a strip search on Mullis and located a small gray container. The container contained a folded up dollar with suspected methamphetamine inside and a small ziploc bag with suspected methamphetamine inside. Mullis was charged with possession of methamphetamine and felony going inside the guardline with weapon, liquor, or drugs.
Drunk driver speeds 102 mph in posted 55
On April 5, in the area of State Route 49, a Dodge Charger traveling at 102 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per house zone passed two officers. A traffic stop was conducted at the 200 block of State Route 49 and the vehicle came to a stop in the driveway of the Old Capital Mobile Home Community. The driver, identified as Julian Martinez, was described to have slurred speech, red and glossy eyes, and the odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. A search of the vehicle revealed three open containers of “Beatbox,” an alcoholic beverage. Martinez agreed to submit a state administered chemical test but was later unable to get one breath sample on the Intoxilyzer 9000. Martinez was issued citations for speeding, improper passing in a no passing zone, reckless driving, driving under the influence, and open container in vehicle.
Driver arrested for not maintaining lane
On April 5, law enforcement initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at Sycamore Road and Hickory Drive. The driver, Maria Yanez, failed to maintain her lane several times. Yanez told officers that she had two 'Victoria' beers about an hour prior to the traffic stop. Law enforcement conducted a motor vehicle safety inspection and Yanez failed all the tests. She refused to complete the state administered chemical test of her breath or a state administered test of her blood.
Yanez was issued citations for driving under the influence (refusal), failure to maintain lane, suspended registration, and implied consent refusal.
Man arrested for stealing bike
On April 5, law enforcement was notified of a theft. The owner of a bike witnessed a male subject steal his bike, valued at approximately $100. Video surveillance footage of the individual taking the bicycle was submitted to law enforcement. Through investigative means it was determined the subject’s name was Eric Mosley. An attempt to contact Mosley was met with negative results. Mosley was later witnessed riding the stolen bicycle at the intersection of Vinson Highway and Scott Hill Lane. Mosley was placed into double locking handcuffs in accordance with Milledgeville Police Department policy and transported to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. A warrant for theft by taking was secured against Mosley.
