Woman leaves accident at Zips Car Wash

On March 29, law enforcement was dispatched to Zips Car Wash, 103 Log Cabin Road, about a motor vehicle collision. Prior to law enforcement's arrival, the complainant stated the driver of the other vehicle left the scene and advised the vehicle that struck him was a white SUV.

A Zips employee provided the tag number of the vehicle that left the scene. The complainant stated the driver of the SUV did get out of her vehicle and check on him but when asked to exchange information returned to her vehicle and left. By running the tag, law enforcement was able to locate the address of the owner. At the residence, they made contact with Liberty Harris, who was confirmed through security footage to have been the driver.

The reporting officer noted that the vehicle had the incorrect tag on it. Harris was arrested without incident and charged with a hit and run and affixing a tag to conceal the identity of a motor vehicle.

Man attacks vehicle with hedge trimmers

On March 30, law enforcement was dispatched to the intersection of North Glynn Street and West Hancock Street about property damage. A driver stated he was driving south on North Glynn Street and as he passed 121 North Glynn Street, he observed a male, later identified as Charles Prosser, throw a pair of hedge trimmers into the air. He advised he turned his vehicle around to check on Prosser and, as he reached the residence, Prosser proceeded to strike the right-side view mirror and quarter panel with the trimmers.

Ryan stated he immediately turned his vehicle around and called the police. It will cost approximately $500 to repair. The passenger of the vehicle corroborated the driver’s story.

Prosser advised he observed a silver vehicle drive by his residence playing music extremely loud. And that threw a pair of hedge trimmers at the vehicle as they passed but missed. When he went to pick up the trimmers and return to his residence, Prosser claims the vehicle tried to run him over and that is why he hit it with the trimmers.

When Prosser was asked about how the vehicle attempted to run him over, Prosser advised the vehicle never left the road and he was approximately three to four feet from the roadway. Due to statements from Prosser, the driver, and the passenger, Prosser was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

On April 1, law enforcement was dispatched to The Market, at 821 North Columbia Street, about shoplifting. An employee stated a male and a female walked into the store together.

The female stayed stationed toward the front of the store while the male looked around. Camera footage of the male subject showed him grabbing a red University of Georgia Bulldogs hat, valued at $50, and shoving it inside his shorts. He also attempted to grab a few candy bars before being called out where he then put them back.

The employee followed the couple outside, where he attempted to get the tag registration but was only able to get a partial. The male and female have yet to be identified.
