Man breaks into unlocked residence 

On March 18, law enforcement was dispatched to a residence on Stone Meadow Road about an unwanted person. The complainant stated she arrived at the location with a realtor to look at the residence. They attempted to enter the garage door, it was blocked, and she heard someone inside the residence. Law enforcement cleared the residence and located Michael Shepard in a rear bedroom, who stated he needed a place to stay the previous night and noticed a light on inside the house. The door was reportedly unlocked so he entered to sleep inside the residence. A warrant for criminal trespass was secured for Shepard.

65-inch TV stolen from Bolt Storage

On March 18, law enforcement was dispatched to Bolt Storage at 46 Marshall Road about a burglary. The owner of a storage unit reported that the lock on his unit was changed to a combination lock. He called Bolt Storage personnel got the combination to the lock and entered the unit. He reported missing a black 65-inch Hisense smart T.V. As of

deadline there is no further information.

Man flees from accident on Ivey Drive

On March 21, law enforcement was dispatched to the 200 block of Ivey Drive about a vehicle accident. The driver was not seen but the reporting party stated they saw a person dressed in yellow walking away from the crash. Police located a red Mercury Grand Marquis in a ditch on its passenger side. The vehicle was registered to someone from Jackson. Soon after police arrival, Catherine Grable arrived on the scene and stated the vehicle belonged to her son. She reported that her son called her stating he had an accident and was injured. Grable was asked multiple times for her son's name before she stated it was Zeraun Gibson.

When asked to call him to have him return to the scene, she refused. Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate Gibson. Warrants for driving while unlicensed and leaving the scene of an accident were sworn against Gibson.

Wallet stolen from a resident vehicle

On March 23, law enforcement contacted the complainant at a residence on Roberts Street about an entering auto. The victim stated that she looked inside her silver 2004 Nissan Sentra and noticed her wallet missing and the interior rummaged through. She reported that left her vehicle unlocked the night prior. No video surveillance was available to further investigate the case.

On the same date, law enforcement contacted the complainant at a residence on Earnest Byner Street about another entering auto. The victim stated her center console had been rummaged through in her silver 2005 Honda Accord and that her wallet was missing.

She reportedly locked the vehicle, and no forced entry was noted upon inspection of the vehicle. No video surveillance was available to further investigate the case.

Man arrested for DUI

On March 23, law enforcement observed a gray Toyota Tacoma traveling 77 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. An officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Shaun Hill.

While speaking with Hill, his speech was slurred, and the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage was coming from his person. Hill stated he had approximately three mixed drinks two hours before driving and did not know what kind of alcoholic beverage was in them.

Hill was instructed to exit the vehicle to perform field sobriety testing. The test was not completed as Hill stated he could not continue when starting the walk-and-turn test. Hill was placed under arrest and agreed to do a breath test. However, he later refused testing on the Intoxilyzer 9000 at the jail. Hill also refused to sign the citation and the form acknowledging that his license would be suspended. He was arrested for speeding and DUI refusal.
