Woman arrested for trespassing in Walmart

On Feb. 20, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart about shoplifting. Asset Protection personnel advised Courtney Dressler to enter the location, despite being trespassed due to a previous shoplifting incident. She stated that she watched Dressler fail to scan several items before paying. Dressler then went to a different checkout station and paid for a few more items but failed to pay for a Deli Salad and Luvs diapers valued at $39.21. The employee confronted Dressler after she completed the purchase and asked for her receipt, which did not list the items. Dressler stated she did not mean to fail to scan the two items and that she was aware of the Notice of Restriction but thought the notice expired. Security footage corroborated the employee’s narrative. Warrants for theft by shoplifting and criminal trespass were secured for Dressler.

Woman conceals items in backpack at Walmart

On Feb. 20, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. Asset Protection personnel had Kesley Brady in custody for attempting to conceal items in the backpack she was carrying. An employee had witnessed her concealing items and trying to pass the last point of sale. A receipt of all the items stolen totaled $86.77. Brady was issued a citation for shoplifting less than $500.

Damage discovered to a residence on West Thomas Circle 

On Feb. 21, law enforcement was dispatched to a residence on West Thomas Circle in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated that one of the workers was inspecting the address and discovered the back door had been kicked in. The residence was vacant and no other damage was seen.

However, the complainant was able to provide a video of a group of juveniles outside the location exposing multiple handguns. The officer was unable to see the full faces of the juveniles. The complainant believes they may have damaged the door. It will cost approximately $500 to fix the door and door frame.

Unknown suspects enter vehicles in Revelry Flats

On Feb. 24, law enforcement was notified of a 2007 tan Jeep Liberty stolen from Revelry Flats. The owner stated he last saw the vehicle on Feb. 23 and came outside the morning of Feb. 24 to discover the vehicle missing.

A spare key was reportedly left inside the vehicle between the sun visor. With further investigation, law enforcement determined the last location to be the intersection of Vinson Highway and Bell Avenue heading southbound on Feb. 24.

In a separate incident on the same date, a resident at Revelry Flats also reported an entering auto. She discovered the doors of her 2012 Toyota Camry were unlocked. She reported missing was a 50-round box of 22 Winchester Magnum bullets.

Man steals vehicle from Five Star Toyota

On Feb. 24, law enforcement was dispatched to Five Star Toyota of Milledgeville, on North Columbia Street, about the theft of a motor vehicle.

A sales manager reported that her salesman allowed a man named Triston Busam to test drive a vehicle and that it had yet to be returned. Busam stated in texts he was on the way back to the dealership but had not shown up.

The vehicle was equipped with a system to be able to be tracked. When the vehicle entered Gwinnett County officers were able to get behind the vehicle on the interstate 85 near mile marker 119 and conducted a traffic stop. Busam was taken into custody and the vehicle was towed by Willard Wrecker Service. Five Star Toyota employees were notified and will pick up the vehicle. A warrant for theft by taking an automobile was secured for Busam.
