Dear Editor,
I noted your article about the trash along the roads.
We have a solution, but it is in the hands of the judges. Sometimes they sentence a culprit to “community service.” They could specify the service to be so many hours or miles of removing trash along roads. Yes, it would mean a law officer would have to supervise, but I’m sure that could be worked out.
The county might also offer a reward to anyone who reports a trash dumper. I tried to report a trash dumper years ago that dumped a six-pack of empty beer bottles. However, our government did not even want the tag number.
Judges, do your thing and help keep our roads clean!
Sincerely, Susan Lindsley
