Unknown male robs man at gunpoint
On Nov. 3, law enforcement was dispatched to Johnny McDade Grocery, 1765 Vinson Hwy, in reference to an armed robbery that occurred at Milledgeville Manor. The complainant stated one of her regular customers advised her that he gave a male a ride to the manor and when he arrived in the apartment complex, the male robbed him at gunpoint. The complainant stated the customer, and the other male were in the grocery store prior to driving to the manor. The driver stated he drove the male to the side of South Elbert Street and parked in front of the building. According to the driver, the male was messing with items inside of his truck and he advised them not to steal anything. In response, the male pulled a semi-automatic handgun out and pointed it at him telling him to give him all of his money. The driver stated he told the male he would give him whatever he had in his pockets and the male took $100 from his pocket before fleeing to the J building. After they fled, the driver returned to the grocery store to inform management what occurred. Law enforcement was able to get video footage of the incident, however, due to the quality of the video footage and window tint, officers could not identify the male.
According to the report, there is a potential suspect, but no positive identification has been made.
Burglary at Culver Kidd Building
On Nov. 3, law enforcement was dispatched to the Culver Kidd Building, 2460 Vinson Hwy, in reference to a burglary. Dynamic Security personnel stated they were told to come to the location after receiving a report of a loud banging noise coming from inside the building. When they arrived on scene, they saw two large trucks with a lift kit as well as a sedan leaving the area. While inspecting the damages, law enforcement noticed a busted-out window and bent piece of metal on the far-right side of the building. Dynamic Security was unable to open the building so officers climbed through the busted window to open the main door. While clearing the building, a fire extinguisher was found lying in the hallway. Footprints were in the powder from where the subjects sprayed the contents of the extinguisher on the floor. Law enforcement also noticed the drywall was damaged in one of the rooms. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, no suspects were identified.
Woman cited for DUI
On Nov. 4, law enforcement was dispatched to 520 Hwy. 12 in reference to a vehicle accident. The driver, identified as Jenna Davis, appeared to be slumped over in the driver’s seat but breathing. She did not verbally respond to officers but did respond by nodding.
Her eyes were watery and bloodshot, and the smell of an unknown alcoholic beverage was coming from her person. When she exited the vehicle, she swayed back and forth and began to verbally respond as she was escorted to EMS personnel. Due to Davis having a possible injury from the car accident, she was transported to Atrium Health Baldwin for treatment as well as to complete a blood kit, which she consented to. Davis was issued citations for failure to drive within a single lane and driving under the influence of alcohol. Davis was left at the hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
Unknown man robs the SOLO Store
On Nov. 4, law enforcement was dispatched to the SOLO store, on 1310 Irwinton Rd., in reference to an armed robbery. Three witnesses stated a black male dressed in all black clothing and a black ski mask, walked into the store and went behind the counter where the female witness was sitting. The male reportedly grabbed her right bicep area and yanked her out of the seat, held a knife to her neck area, and told her to give him all of the cash in the registers. The female stated she opened the cash registers, and the male pushed her backwards to grab the money in both registers. The male then ran outside, turned right, and ran towards Swint Avenue. The two other witnesses stated they were both in the back of the store and heard something hitting the ground. Neither saw the male who committed the armed robbery. According to the report, a K-9 arrived on scene and attempted to track the offender, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
Unknown individual breaks into Georgia Power Substation On Nov. 6, law enforcement was dispatched to the Georgia Power Substation, on 1901 Holly Hill Rd, in reference to a burglary that already occurred. The employee stated he and his crew got to the substation to start work and he completed a walkthrough of the area. He found the southwest corner of the fence had been cut but stated everything appeared to be there and accounted for. He stated they would be putting up a camera to monitor that corner of the fence in response to the event.
