>> HEALTH INFORMATION

Anyone in the organ transplant community is invited to the Georgia Transplant Foundation’s (GTF) Trends in Transplant (TNT) conference at Central Georgia Technical College on Saturday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The TNT conference is designed to provide transplant candidates, recipients, living donors and their families with educational information and support as they experience transplantation.

This year’s conference will contain several seminars including: Updates in Transplantation, led by Alexander Lemmer, MD, from Piedmont Transplant Institute, Chair Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation, led by certified yoga instructor Sonya Phillips, You Can Do It: Fundraising for Post-Transplant Needs, led by MSW GTF Graduate Intern Lisa Yudis-Ristuccia, and Mentor Project Training, led by Rebekah Moshiri, LMSW, Director, Patient Services. GTF staff will also be on-hand to provide information on financial strategies and programs offered by Georgia Transplant Foundation.

The Georgia Transplant Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides financial, educational and emotional support to organ transplant candidates, recipients, living donors and their families in Georgia.

Transplantation is not a cure, but a treatment, and its financial, physical and emotional effects continue for life. Statewide, there are more than 3,891 people waiting for organ transplants.

The conference is free for all transplant candidates, recipients, living donors and one guest. A complimentary lunch will be provided.

To register for the event, please call 678-514-1178 by March 17 or go to www.gatransplant.org/ MACONTNT. For more information about GTF, visit www.gatransplant. org.
